It was incredibly difficult to see anything. Even though the dragon's eyes pierced through the water easily, there was too much ground to cover, too many tossing waves and vicious currents. It was like trying to locate a single grain of sand lost on the beach. {{Please be okay.}}
The midst of the water began to swirl in a circle like a whirlpool, then started spiralling upwards. Inside the top of the spiral, a white tail and pale body glinted in the sunlight. {{Roka...?}} Rinjin's eyes grew wider. {{It's him!}} Roka's voice was just barely audible over the sounds of the rushing water and trees breaking around them. "Roka no Jutsu: Frozen Ocean."
From the ground up all of the raging water began to freeze solid. Orochimaru's mansion was visible again, buried beneath the thick ice. The formerly rampaging dragons were now reduced to harmless ice sculptures. Even the spiral of water with Roka inside it had frozen over now. But the immense amount of chakra it had taken to do all this made that final layer of ice thin and fragile. Roka's body went limp as it froze and his weight against the sheet of ice broke it.
He fell from the tall spiral onto the surface of the ice with a soft 'thud,' and he lay there, motionless. Roka was still in his demon form, tail and all, but all of the tattoos were completely gone and his fins and fangs were much smaller, almost innocent looking. Many cuts and bruises, not only from the fight, but from his large self-inflicted flood, covered his body.
Rinjin rushed to his side, fearful. He couldn't hear any more confused or angry or scared voices in the hanyou's mind. In fact, he heard nothing. Nothing at all. No voice. Not even Roka's. Only utter silence.
{{Partner, Roka, are you...are you...?}} He nudged him with his nose, large, hot tears forming in his eyes. {{You can't be. Dammit, don't die on me now.}} He used a claw to gently turn him over, on to his back, then pressed his ear up to Roka's chest.
After a moment, Rin heaved a sigh of relief. {{...He's breathing. Unconscious, and exhausted, no doubt. He'll be recovering from this for a long time. But he's breathing.}} He glared down at Roka. {{You are in so much trouble when you wake up, you know. Don't you dare scare me like that again.}}
