"Let. Me. Go." As commanding as he tried to make that sound, Roka's 'human' voice was shaky now. He didn't want this thing invading his body to know he was afraid. But realizing that he was being taken over from the inside out was starting to get to him.
"Back to your so-called 'friends'? Worthless, human vermin...no, we would be so much better off without them. They hold us back. But we can easily remedy that situation, can't we, my vessal?" The suggestion was followed by a deranged laugh. His fangs and claws grew longer and sharper. The tattoo had finally spread over his face. "N...no..." Roka's body convulsed from the internal struggle and he dropped to his knees. "You can't..."
Since Kioku was currently not a threat in the quicksand, he needed a new target. Against his will, Roka's head snapped up and around so that his white, glowing eyes were trained on Sayuri. "This one? ...Yes, this one would be a good place to start." "Sa...yu...ri." There was a small, almost unnoticeable trace of fear in his eyes, like a last ember in a dying fire.
Without any further warning, he ran at her at a speed too fast to follow with normal eyes, and attempted to stab her through the heart and stomach with his claws.
(Ah, the ironies of life. Looks like Karma got Roka back for you ladies. The puppet-master has become the puppet. And yes, I said normal eyes, implying that now would be an excellent time to bring out your sharingan. I'm going for 'Lee-style' demon speed here.)

Shia's eyes widened in shock. She'd thought he would just fight Kioku because she had challenged him.
As Roka started to move, everything happened in slow-motion. She saw him disappear at his inhuman speed and, as a reflex, threw herself onto Sayuri, making her roll further sideways. If he was fast, then he should have a hard time adjusting his direction in mid-running. "Sorry." she mumbled, because Sayuri was hurt more badly than herself. Shia quickly hauled Sayuri onto her feet. She felt sorry but without her friend's Sharingan eyes, she wouldn't stand a chance right now. "Sayuri. Please use your eyes and try to cover me for as long as you can. I'm going to use my Kekkei Genkai and it needs a bit of time to activate."
Shia stepped back and let Sayuri go ahead. She was sure, hurt or not, Sayuri would give Roka a hard time. Even if he was in this frightening form. Shia started forming the seals to a summoning jutsu.

As Roka passed the spot where Sayuri had been standing, he ended up hitting a tree that stood just behind where she had been. The force of the blow splintered the wood deeply, and with a loud 'crack,' the poor, innocent tree fell over.
He snarled and glared at Shia for stopping him. Apparently she wanted to protect the other human, meaning he would have to kill both of them. That was fine, though. He was flexible. A small puddle near Shia sprung to life, spitting out a large barrage of ice needles, and Roka himself waited for the right moment to strike.

Shia jumped back. Though the ice scraped the side of her calf, she didn't stop making seals even in mid-air. When she landed, she bit her thumb, making it bleed, and slammed her hand onto the ground. <Kuchiyose no Jutsu.> A panther, a bit larger than real life, appeared with a loud crack and a poof of smoke. The panther looked at Shia. They didn't use telepathy or words. The panther knew what his job was and Shia knew about hers. Again, she began weaving seals together smoothly. Shia's chakra started seeping out of her moving palms towards the panther. He accepted the chakra, letting his own flow back into Shia. Soon they were in sync, and started stepping slowly towards eachother. Somewhere along their figures blended into eachother.
When Shia emerged fully from the smoke again, she had yellow slitted eyes, pointed ears and even a tail. Her fingernails were long and sharp and she soon fell down to all fours. Even her face was somewhat deformed, her nose was flatter. What basically had taken place was that Shia had fused herself with the panther. This particular animal made her both stronger and faster. She couldn't quite keep up with Roka's speed, but at least she had a better way of fighting it. Though she had now gained a lot, and we're talking A LOT of strength here. If Sayuri could now stop Roka for even a second, Shia could now deal a great amount of damage.

For an instant, the sight of the large panther made Roka flinch. It was true, his fear of felines had been able to hinder him more than once. But this time was different, because it was only the more human, normal, sane Roka that they knew who was afraid of cats. This new creature that had just taken control was not afraid. It did not know fear. It did not know the love of his family that drove his mind to break from the tragedy a 'cat' had caused.
Nor did it know any kind of hesitation. In another blur of motion, he lunged for Shia, claws extended, striking at her with them, the blade-like fins on his arms, even his shark-like teeth if he could sink them into her skin. 'It'll be fun, tearing you apart...'

Sayuri started, actually laughed, albeit through nerves fear and hollow as anything. Roka had certainly lost his hold on life, on reality, and most of all the battle. Despite what happened, at the very least, Sayuri knew that both Roka and herself would not fight to the death. Well, all of that had suddenly changed, and a little too abruptly for Sayuri's liking.
She had scrambled to her feet clumsily, due to the cuts, burns and scratches that decorated her body in a morbidly pretty way. Then she noticed her wounds, her lack of strength and stamina, and her minor injuries. Great. She activated her Sharingan anyway, the only thing that could possibly help her.
As time begun to 'slow down' so to speak, when in reality, Sayuri just gained speed to that of Roka's, almost, it seemed a little easier. The icy needle barrage would be fine to dodge, but she also had to remember Kioku and Shia. They were her allies in this battle and- wait, this had spun totally out of control. She shook her head, which was her symbolism for ridding orders from her master; she would still not fight to the death , there was no way she'd kill Roka. He was a good friend to her - hell, she had had gone into labour with Ryuu with him.
"Roka!" she roared, her voice hoarse with exhaustion, with fierce tones. She didn't let fear seep into her voice, though she wasn't sure if he could tell or not. "Leave Kioku and Shia. You had your eyes set on ME, I saw it! Come, Roka!"
Sayuri had no idea what she was doing. It was obviously a death wish, but she couldn't remember why she wanted to die. She sure wasn't thinking straight. Then he saw his lunge, just as it begun. Sayuri feared Shia would face the full force of his attack, as his speed was formidable. She pushed herself, ran with such force, she though her shins would splinter, and jumped into Shia's view, right leg first. Either she'd kick her friend out of the way, which would hurt a lot less, or Roka would sink his piercing body parts into her leg. Either way, it was all she could do by keeping up with his speed, she could defend.

Sayuri's yelling managed to break through the numbing haze of bloodlust. "N...no." Roka's voice was strained, as if he was being choked. His consciousness tried to fight its way back to the surface again. "I...don't...want..." He'd almost been relieved when the monster inside him had forgotten about Sayuri. He had to fight it. He had to stop this. He dropped to his knees, clutching his head, which accidentally caused him to give himself a couple minor cuts due to his claws.
He didn't want to fight Sayuri. She was his friend. She accepted him for who he was. She was like part of his family, the sister he'd never had. "Stop...this bleed, foolish girl...no, don't...and DIE!" Roka released an inhuman growl, before leaping to his feet.
Moving at his demon breakneck speed, he leapt up into a nearby tree, then dove down from it, to thrust his claws into one of his closest friends. 'NO, stop this...' 'Shut up.' While he attacked from above, water whips from the pools below tried to wrap themselves around Sayuri's legs to hold her in place.

As Roka sank to his knees, in a rather tortured manner, Sayuri had landed, panting hard, and had tried reaching out to him, a comforting hand on the shoulder, or an extended arm for him to take and help pick himself back up. She soon realised that just the quick speed was getting to her, and she was starting to worry - especially more so, when whatever Roka was fighting against, won again.
"Roka..." she said under her breath. She was worried, of course, she was conerned, but he was a close friend. Forget about the battle before now, they must realise, Shia and Kioku, that they had already lost to the leaf ninjas.
"Shia, I want you to both protect and attempt to move Kioku." she asked of her friend, pointing at th quicksand that held her in place. "Also, try and keep a low profile. Whatever takes over Roka is dangerous. Really dangerous."
An inhuman growl escaped Roka's lips, and Sayuri shifted her weight backwards, by sliding a leg out. She started to take on a defensive position, as she saw Roka dive for her.
"No, Roka! You can't do-"
sh!t. As she had tried to jump up and backwards, the water whips were too fast and too subtle, grabbing at the girl's feet, bringing her back down. "Uhh..." she moaned a little as she was brought right back down to Earth. Having for a millisecond forgotten where she was, she also realised that she was on the Earth... directly below Roka's attack.
~Take it, just take it, Sayuri. It's fine, its fine, it's fine. Take it, you'll get up [[which wouldn't be the case]] and you'll be able to help him.~
