Roka sensed the change coming in the weather, almost as soon as Sayuri spoke. "No, you're right..." He agreed, with a resigned scowl. "And it can be a pain getting caught outside in one of those here."

Sayuri's eyes came back down on the crystallised watyer as she realised something. "Wait. Roka, remember when we met? I splashed you with water... and you went all mermaid-- sorry merboy on me. Why doesn't snow affect you?" she asked curiously.

“It’s okay.” He tried not to make a face. It was normal for people to hear more about the female of that species anyway. “Yeah. Only water does that to me. Ice, snow, and steam don’t work. They do feel a little weird, but that’s all.”

"I guess that's kinda lucky... I mean you wouldn't be able to do much if you were just flopping on the snow... kinda pointless really." she stopped her rambling streak short, looking again with an anxious expression at the sky, and looking straight down from the tower to the floor. ~Long drop...~

“Yeah…if it worked like that, snowball fights would be kind of sucky.” He agreed, “and I wouldn’t be able to carry out all of my missions. Or step outside during winter.” He saw Sayuri’s interest in the distance from the tower to the ground and remembered that the structure was still slippery from the rain here yesterday. “Watch where you step, by the way.”

Sayu grinned at him, in typical anime fashion. "I know... I'll be careful!" she put a thumbs up sign in his face, and sat back a little. Readjusting her posture, she looked back down and at the sky. She had a kind of nervous edge to her as she rememered er last snowstorm and sighed. "Do you think we should find somewhere to go for the storm?" she tried smiling.

"Yeah..." Roka looked around the village. He wasn't really sure where he could stay and didn't bring money for a room at an inn. "Uh...do you think Haku would mind if I stayed with you two?" He asked sheepishly. He hated taking advantage of his friends' generousity so he normally wouldn't have asked, but the storm was getting closer.

Sayuri stood up, brushed herself down quickly and held her hand out to Roka. "You didn't have to ask," she grinnednervously; She had always been scared of snowstorms.
